This is very beautilful! You have great talent. I love the details you did with this, from the lights in the windows, to the shades, to the tree, the guy with the cart and the horse, and finally to the castle in the background. All the big and small details are very nicely done. I love everything on this picture. I'm jealous. I'm this. Beautiful work of art. How long did it take you to make this masterpiece? From the looks of all the amazing details, it must have taken a while.
Thanks Miya! It was so long ago now (2001) that I can't remember, to be honest- It was for a project that was eventually done in 3D. It was a pencil drawing for a long time, then I had time to color it one winter, and that only took a few hours. Wish there was more time to do my own stuff these days, but I'm storyboarding now, and it always eats up my time. Thanks again!
What a wonderful peace of art! Cant stop looking at it... The houses are simple, yet very detailed. Also color combination you have chosen is pure beauty. I have to admit, purple is my favorite but I never imagined it looks so charming together with yellow! And above all - this feeling of a peaceful late evening, setting upon the town with warming lights in windows and a big round moon rising up in the dark sky. A true masterpiece I have to say.
many of these were location designs for movies, so they wanted alot of little details, areas of interest.. sometimes, a painter would enlarge some section and use that to make a color model.
Thanks for all your comments! I enjoy these more than the 'fave' tags.
nice picture the village itself could pass for being quaint homey and welcoming... if not for the dark trees, mist, castle and purple night sky and full moon! a rather creepy and cool atmosphere in the end I like!
